Belmont Library Closure Update: SE 36th and Hawthorne
July 17th Update:
Belmont Library will close at the end of August 2024, for much needed and welcome renovations! Multnomah County Library (MCL) is setting up a temporary site so we can pick up MCL items placed on hold. That site will open early September.
Official announcements with ,pre details will be made shortly, but the temporary site will be at SE 36th and Hawthorne, a great location if you want to combine food and retail shopping,, banking, eating, and more at the same time you pick up your holds, and an especially terrific location for those of us who are Car-Free.
The Hawthorne location is on the Trimet 14 bus line and a few blocks from the Cesar Chavez Blvd 75, Belmont 15, and Division St FTX bus lines.
While Belmont is closed, take the opportunity to visit other MCL locations:

Hollywood Branch, close to Trimet bus 75, 12, and others, including MAX Red, Blue, and Green lines.
Woodstock Branch, close to Trimet bus 71, 19, and 75
Northwest (NW 23rd and Thurman) branch: Not close geographically, but worth a visit, open during their renovation, AND a single bus ride for us on our Trimet bus 15, with many grocery stores and retail along the way on both sides of the river.
