This speaker series has been organized by the inimitable Midge Pierce, our tireless (and persistent*) reporter on neighborhood matters. Read Midge’s excellent articles in the SE Examiner monthly (and come to the MTNA meetings to thank her in person).
Here are the speakers who have been invited for this round of Speaker Events:
Special Speaker: Emergency Prep from TaborVilla NET (a Portland Prepares team) November 20, 2019: 7:30 - 8:00 pm Short topic will be action focused, and outline one step you can take this season to build your own family's resiliency.
Special Speaker: Meet Your Police Commander, Tashia Hager Jan 15, 2020: 7:30 - 8:00 pm Find out what's up (or down) with crime, and ask your questions.
Special Speaker: Will Mt. Hood Blow and Other Backyard Hazards Feb 19, 2020: 7:30-8:00 pm With Cascades chief volcanologist Seth Moran
Special Speaker: Climate Change Curriculum for PPS March 18, 2020: 7:30-8:00 pm Changing Curriculum to Address Climate Justice with Rethinking Schools' author Bill Bigelow and Glencoe's Tim Swinehart
You can also let your MTNA Board know if you want other speakers and topics, e.g. traffic, parking, neighborhood association code changes, land use, etc., etc., etc.
